Reciprocal IVF

An IVF option for same-sex female couples where one partner provides eggs and the other carries the pregnancy.

Reciprocal IVF (also called partner IVF or co-IVF) allows both partners to have a biological role in the pregnancy. One partner undergoes ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval; the eggs are fertilized with donor sperm to create embryos, and then transferred into the other partner's uterus.

The carrying partner prepares her endometrium with estrogen and progesterone supplementation. Either partner's embryos can be used first, and remaining embryos are vitrified for future cycles.

Legal parentage varies by jurisdiction, so couples are advised to consult a reproductive attorney before proceeding.
